Sam Bulloch -

Naturopath, Biodynamic Bee Steward & Earth Tender, Mentor & Educator.

Sam Bulloch was introduced to the work of Rudolph Steiner & Biodynamics in childhood by the Anthroposophist parents of one of her closest friends, a wisdom stream that immediately made sense to her in terms of what she innately intuited and saw in the world of nature - truth, beauty & goodness. She was raised in a small semi rural town by parents who had a deep love and respect for the bush, wilderness annd native wildlife, instilling in her values of nature conservation, protection and care.

An avid gardener from girlhood she is happiest when in her garden, wrist deep in compost, planting something beautiful. She lives and works on a tiny nook of bush in the Gold Coast hinterland on Kombumberri country. Over the last decade she has been tending & restoring the land with Biodynamic Preparations and Organic Gardening practices to create a thriving ecosystem & pollinator / wildlife sanctuary.

Sam has been working in the health care realm for the better part of four decades. She began her personal & clinical work with Flower Essences in 1988, as a way of integrating the deeply emotional & spiritual work of nursing critically ill and dying children. Her profound experiences with the Bach & Californian Flower Essences during that time began a life long love affair with plant medicines. When she opened her WA clinic “The Naturopathic Fertility Centre” in 1998 ( specialising in Reproductive Endocrinology & Fertility), Flower Essences along with Homeopathic & Herbal Medicine became the foundation of her clinical protocols along with her teaching and mentoring work.

She began tending bees at Spring Equinox 2018 with a single Kenyan Top Bar Hive of Italian Honey Bees under the gentle, wise mentorship of Willow Hankison and immediately began integrating the use of Vibrational Medicines, Herbs, Mushrooms and Minerals to support and nurture her bees and work in intimate co-creative partnership with them.                                                                                                                   For her, wholistic, gentle & sensitive bee-centric stewardship has been a natural progression and expansion of her decades of work caring for women babies & children. She has developed a system of working directly with the nature intelligence of each hive drawing on the work of Rudolph Steiner, Spikenard Farm & Machaelle Wright / Perelandra Centre for Nature Research. Her garden now houses a small Apiary of 4 hives and a flourishing micro flower farm.

In 2020 she experienced a sudden, significant vision loss which changed the direction of her life substantially and forced her to step back from her clinic “The Alchemist’s Tree” decades before she anticipated doing so. This initiation in grief, loss, impermanence & surrender further anchored her relationship with the healing power of nature, the Holy Spirit, prayer and spiritual practice. It became fertile ground for the teaching and work she will embark upon in her sixth decade, along with her ability to mentor and support beekeepers through the thresholds of birth and death inherent in the work of beekeeping alongside Varroa in the years to come.

She will begin opening her garden to the public & teaching “A Biodynamic Backyard” & “An Introduction to Biodynamic Beekeeping” in the late spring of 2025. When she is not working in her garden or tending her bees, Sam joyfully spends time with her 5 grandchildren who tether her to a hope-filled future of unlimited possibility, creativity and imagination.
